Insurance Assistance for Hail Damage Repair
Dealing with hail damage is frustrating enough — insurance shouldn’t make it worse. At Taney County Dent Repair, we help vehicle owners navigate the insurance process and get their car repaired properly using Paintless Dent Repair (PDR)
We don’t work for the insurance company. We work for you.
IMPORTANT: You always have the right to choose your repair shop
This matters more than most people realize
Insurance companies may suggest or “recommend” a shop. That recommendation is optional.
You have the legal right to:
Choose the repair facility you trust
Ask questions about repair methods
Decline repairs you’re uncomfortable with
We’re happy to explain your options so you can make an informed decision.
Frequently Asked Insurance Questions
-
We’re your repair advocate
Insurance companies write estimates. Repair shops actually fix the vehicle.
Our job is to:
Evaluate the full extent of the damage
Determine if PDR is the correct and complete repair
Make sure nothing is missed
Communicate professionally with adjusters when needed
Repair the vehicle to factory-safe standards
If something doesn’t look right on an estimate, we’ll explain why — in plain English.
-
An estimate is not a final repair plan
Many insurance estimates are written:
From photos
In low lighting
Before the vehicle is fully inspected
Because of that:
Some damage is commonly missed
Panel counts can be low
Structural access issues may not be included
Once we see the vehicle in person, we verify the damage and, if necessary, help submit a supplement so the repair can be completed correctly.
This is normal. It’s not a dispute — it’s part of the process.
-
A supplement is an adjustment to the original estimate when additional damage or labor is discovered during a proper inspection.
Supplements may include:
Additional dents found under proper lighting
Extra time for bracing or double-walled panels
Roof, hood, or decklid damage that wasn’t visible in photos
Interior R&I (remove and reinstall) required for access
We document everything clearly and professionally.
-
We’re honest about limitations.
If:
Paint is cracked or broken
Metal is excessively stretched
Previous body filler is present
We’ll let you know upfront. In some cases, a hybrid repair (PDR + traditional repair) may be recommended. Our goal is always the correct repair — not forcing PDR where it doesn’t belong.
-
Hail damage rarely totals a vehicle, but if repairs approach a total loss threshold:
We’ll be upfront with you
We’ll explain what that means
We’ll help you understand next steps
Transparency matters.
-
“Insurance estimates are final.”
False. They’re a starting point.“I have to use the insurance-recommended shop.”
False. The choice is yours.“More dents means repainting.”
Not true — hail often qualifies for full PDR repair.
